Creative Fingers Easel card with Beccys Place

This week as usual our challenge is anything goes with the optional twist of an easel card.  Here's my creation

I am using the fabulous Christmas Tree Cottage digi from Beccys Place which I just fell in love with as soon as I saw it!  My papers and embellishments were all magazine freebies.

I hope you will be able to have a look at the challenge blog as we have some lovely new DT members.

I made my card  and photographed it in the middle of a terrible storm ( which is why my photo is a bit wobbly lol!).  The wind and rain eased by the afternoon only to be replaced by blizzards!  The joys of the Scottish winter!

Anything Goes with Indigo Blu with Through the Purple Haze challenges

We have very exciting challenge for you at Through the Purple Haze challenges this week using the fab stamps of Indigo Blu and the theme is Anything Goes with Indigoblu!

I was lucky enough to get the set Blooming Great to play with which you will find here I thought I would use my stamps to alter a wee notepad Ive had for a while.

I used Imagination metallic mica paint and covered a few sheets of just plain old copier paper with different colours in the palette, going for an autumnal feel.

I stamped using Versafine black ink and cut out and mounted the flowers and leaves at the bottom of my pad along with some dots of pearl Cosmic Shimmer.

The rest looked a bit bare when I remembered a pack of tags I had, covered it in paint dabbed dry with some kitchen roll, stamped my sentiment and some flourishes from the set and finished off with a charm and some lace from my stash.

I have to confess that I did most of the painting and cutting out during my lunchtime at work this week sitting in my car!  I did get some odd looks but I tell you what I got so much done!

Indigo Blu stamps are the highest quality and an absolute joy to work with and I cant wait to see your creations for the challenge using them.  Please have a look at the blog here for some inspiration and all the details of the challenge.

Creative Fingers Ribbon and Lace

Time for a new challenge at Creative Fingers and we have a lovely theme this week, Ribbon and Lace.  I could fill a room with all my ribbons but am strangely always looking for more when I'm in a craft shop!

This week we are sponsored by the fabulous Crafty Sentiments, heres my card

This card is for my friend who's birthday is the day before Halloween, Its such an adorable image from Crafty Sentiments.

I coloured her with Spectrum Noirs and I tried a new technique (not particularly successfully!) of not blending as much as normal to give a painted effect.  My background paper is from my pad I bought in my local Lidl, its lasting well!  My swirl dies are Marianne and my tag is Papermania.  Ribbon, lace and charm are all from my stash.  A few dots of pearly black cosmic shimmer to finish.

I love Autumnal tones and this image really suited the colours of my backing paper.  I just love the cheeky wee black cat hes the image of my old moggy Malachi or Minky as we call him for some reason.  I read somewhere if a cat approaches you with his tail like a question mark it means he's happy so the cat on this paper must be very content!

I hope you will get the chance to pop along to the Creative Fingers blog here and see what my wonderful Teammates have made to inspire you and find all the details of our challenge.

Creative Fingers Make it Shine!

Time for another challenge at Creative Fingers and our theme will brighten up your dark and dreary autumn days Make it Shine

We are sponsored this week by the fabulous Lacy Sunshine and lucky Design Team that we are we got some wonderful digis to play with, heres my card

She is called Pearl, sea kissed Mermaid, isn't she gorgeous?  You will find Lacy Sunshine digis here where you will find a wealth of beauties and the artist Heather is always adding new images so I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

I coloured her with flexmarkers and Spectrum Noirs and highlighted her tail, eyes and hair clip with Stickles glitter glue (How I struggled to get a photo that showed the glitter, this pathetic effort is the best of the bunch, sigh)  My backing paper is from Lidl.  What a treat to slip some crafty goodies into my basket with my cat food and nappies!  My gems and ribbon are from my ever expanding stash and my lovely little oyster button to finish off.

Sadly since I photographed my card my oyster button has mysteriously vanished from my card and hasnt been seen since!  I just hope my silly cat didnt think it was a real fish and munched it!

Simply Create Too, Bugs but no Butterflies

We have a new challenge at Simply Create Too, Bugs but no Butterflies.  When I saw this theme I immediately thought of a gorgeous Lacy Sunshine digi I had downloaded and not used yet.

She is a Melancholy Moppet and she was such fun to colour with my Flexmarkers!  My backing paper was a magazine freebie, my doilie is Papermania (I will try not to use a doilie on my next make Im getting a bit obsessed with them!)  My twine and charm are from my stash and some dots of pearly Cosmic Shimmer to finish.  I tried to make my twine like a web, I think I should have added a few across the way though.

Spiders are probably not the most popular creatures but I like them!  At the moment I have a HUGE one in my living room and every morning me and my wee boy have to look up at all the corners of the ceiling to find him and wish him "Good morning Mr Spider!"  We will miss him when he moves on.

Please pop along to the Simply Create Too blog here for some wonderful DT inspiration.

I coloured these images when I first got my Distress Markers over a year ago.  I was really happy with them but didn't know what to use them on.  I must admit Ive forgotten the makes of the stamps, if you recognise them please enlighten me!

My background papers are My Minds Eye , my buttons are Papermania and my die cut is Memory Box.  The base of my pen holder was a jar of fancy coffee which I only bought so I could use the jar!

Through the Purple Haze 1st challenge, Indigoblu

It's time for our first challenge at Through the Purple Haze challenges and I couldnt be more excited!

We have a double challenge to start with starting with Indigoblu stamps, heres my creation

This was my first time using Indigoblu stamps and I have to say they were a joy!  They are premounted so I got a lovely crisp image every time.  The set the DT got to play with was the Live, laugh, love set here.

I stamped and coloured the flowers, leaves, butterfly and dragonfly with flexmarkers and cut them out.  I made my wreath template by drawing round a plate (technical eh!) cut the centre out and got sticking! I found a channel showing my old favourite The Golden Girls so I was sticking away while I giggled through a couple of episodes of that.  My mat in the middle is Kanban and I used my flexmarkers round the edge to pull it all together. Ribbon from my stash just to hang it up.  A change of colours would see the wreath suitable for Christmas too, such versatile stamps!

Please pop along here to see what my lovely teammates have been up to and for details of the fab Christmas competition with a prize you would not believe all you have to do is enter our challenge every week until 16th December.

A big thank you to Anita and the girls for all the hard work thats gone in to setting up the challenge, we have a very exciting journey ahead of us!
