Altered Notepad using Clara and Prima papers

As soon as I saw Visible Images gorgeous new stamp Clara I had to have her. Shes the perfect partner for my favourite stamp Edgar and I cant wait to get creating with the two of them together.

My first make with her is a quick altered notepad.

The backing papers are both Prima. I cut out the edges of the diamond patterned paper and matted it on the black flowered paper with a few extra diamonds just to embellish the blank spaces (cant have any of those!)
Clara is coloured with distress markers, the moment I saw her I was desperate to colour her hair pink, Im not a pink person but I think she really suits it!
A wee memory box die cut in the corner to finish off. I think it all took less than an hour!

A little bit Steampunk

My card this week is my first venture into the mysterious world of Steampunk, a look I just adore.

My background paper is Prima Romance Novel. My main image is Edgar from Visible Image (I am a bit in love with Edgar!) coloured with Distress Markers. Behind him is some red card from my stash embossed using Diesire Steampunk embossing folder. I attacked this with a pair of scissors to get the ripped distressed feel (felt good after a horrible day at work!) I attached some die cuts from my Xcut dies Chronology pocket watch set and the sentiment is K and Co.

The buttons are vintage buttons from my Great Aunts button box.

I would like to enter my card in the following comps

Fairytale Engagement Card

A quick post today to show an engagement card I made for my friends.

I wanted the feel of a dark fairytale, like the Grimm fairy tales I loved reading as a child. They were wonderful yet terrifying and love in them was always so powerful and overcame all odds.

I used watercolour paper for the whole card and all the stamps are Visible Image. The background sky was painted using diluted aquamarkers like watercolours, I would have liked it a bit darker more like a night sky but I diluted too much. I stamped a wild forrest like the one the prince cuts through to get to sleeping beauty using winter tree. The birds are from the Free your Imagination set.
My heart is a Kanban mat stamped with Hearts entwined stamp, I used the swirls on the stamp to make a border round the heart and coloured it with distress markers.
I coloured the two figures of Isabella and Edward using distress markers and mounted using 3d foam. Some gems to finish off and my card is complete.

The words of the Hearts entwined stamp immediately appealed to me for this card and Im pleased to say my friends liked my card!

Vintage Imagination Mens card

Im sure many other crafters, like me, struggle for mens cards. I came across a lovely little set of stamps from My minds eye that are perfect for a vintage theme mens card.

All the backing papers are from the luscious Prima Romance Novel collection. I have overstamped the corners of the paper with tags and fingers from My Minds eye and the crackle from the Time after Time set from Visible Image. My card is pretty embellishment free (not like me!) but Ive made up for it with enthusiastic stamping!

The focal point of card is the Balloon from MME which I stamped in versafine ink then covered in Ranger Sepia Accent for a bit of texture and added three wee dots of it in the corner, just to tie it together. I mounted it using 3d foam onto 2 layers of patterened paper to give it lift (balloon...lift...oh dear think I should stick to crafting and avoid the comedy attempts) The sentiment, which I love is K and co. I then matted it onto a Kanban matt which I coloured with distress markers and my crackle stamp again.

Im entering my card in the following comps -

Mini scrapbook using Visible Image and Distress Markers

I have been experimenting using my beloved Distress Markers directly onto stamps and I am loving the results.

I made this mini scrapbook/photo album for my parents anniversary. The box started life holding cheese! I covered it with some gorgeous Prima patterned paper. I used a Marianne die to cut the main sentiment on the front of the box lid. I used distress markers around the edge and stamped the sentiment from the Time after Time set from Visible Image. I used a double do die to cut the swirly vine and coloured again with distress markers.

The mini book is made from an A4 sheet of plain old photocopy paper folded in half then into a W shape with both ends glued to two circles of card. I stamped more images from my set onto the paper and distressed the edges a wee bit to make it a bit more shabby chic (or maybe just plain shabby!) I stamped onto my circles and mounted another sentiment and cut out stamped image on the front of my book.

I apologise for my blurry photos Im back to using my phone while I wait on my camera getting fixed.

I did all my stamping by colouring directly onto the stamp with the brush end of my distress markers. I love the dreamy watercolour vintage style this produces and its a technique I will definitely be exploring again.

I would like to enter my mini album and box into the following challenges
